The organisers of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar have come up with a unique idea that will enable English fans to drink for as many as 17 hours. The organisers have brought in Glastonbury promoters Arcadia and they will organise a festival called ‘the desert festival’.

The reputed organization, The Sun, has reported that the name of the festival would be ‘Arcadia Spectacular’. The organisers have planned to stage the festival outside the capital city. For the unversed, being drunk is officially an offence in Qatar. Albeit alcohol is not illegal, being drunk is counted as an offence and it might hurt the fans. However, the festival would accommodate as many as 15,000 fans and would enable them to choose foods as per their wish.

Notably, much to the relief of English fans, they would be able to drink from 10 am to 3 am on the morning of the next day. This will enable them to enjoy all matches in a day with their favourite drink. The organizers further revealed that techno and home music will also be a part of the festival.

Arcadia Spectacular at Qatar to enable fans to drink

Speaking of the ticket fares, entry to the festival would cost around 50 euros per day. However, the rates of the drinks offered at the festival would vary and cost around 8 euros. The organizers have planned to stage the ‘Arcadia Spectacular’ 20 km from the capital city between the airport and England’s camp at Souk Al-Wakrah hotel.

However, the organizers have also planned a free entry festival at the centre of Doha. But the only disadvantage would be the limited availability of alcohol. To comment further, alcohol would only be available until 5 pm and fans are prohibited to drink inside the stadium.

In addition to it, bars will also be closed during the games. Fans will have to wait for the conclusion for them to reopen. All said and done, the Qatar World Cup 2022 is going to be a festival of lights, colour, football, pride and music. On the other hand, the national teams are toiling it hard ahead of the much-awaited mega tournament.
