PV Sindhu told PTI that she aspires to win Gold for India in the upcoming Olympics in 2024 in Paris. She says that it felt euphoric to be a part of the Commonwealth Games 2022. "The ultimate goal is the Paris Olympics in 2024. But the focus right now is winning a CWG medal and then the World Championships," Sindhu told PTI.

She said that she is rooted for the gold in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022. Sindhu added that it was an honour to play at the Commonwealth Games which comes once in four years. She said that the time is set to win the gold. “Winning at the Commonwealth Games is a big achievement, it happens every four years. And representing our country at the biggest certainly gives a lot of pride. Hoping for the gold this time," Sindhu added.

She defeated Tai Tzu Young in 2019 from Taipei. But since then, the former has strived hard to reign over the latter. On being asked about her weakness against left-handed players, she replied confidently.

“It's nothing like I'm not able to crack them. It's very important that each match matters. It just depends on that particular day. Each player has a different style of play, different stroke play. You must strategise accordingly because as I mentioned it just depends on that particular day. There were a lot of matches where seeded players lose in the first round, so it also depends on the court conditions,” Sindhu answered.

Sindhu added that the mantra for her success is her fitness. She said that she worked hard for it and is now paying her the benefits. “It's very important to stay physically fit I would say, as an athlete that's what we train for and we need to be injury-free," she said,” Sindhu added.

An athlete of a generation, a shuttler that emerges not often, PV Sindhu has been a star for India. She is a rare piece of ornament that powers the Indian sports to conquer the unrivalled.
