Star Indian player KL Rahul has begun his wicketkeeping practice again as he is set to return to the Indian side. A video has gone viral on social media in which he can be seen batting and practising wicketkeeping in the video shared by his official Instagram handle. The 31-year-old is out for the Indian side after an injury in the IPL 2023.

After suffering a hip flex injury during the LSG and RCB clash in IPL 2023, Rahul underwent surgery in the UK and has since been recovering and rehabbing at the NCA (National Cricket Academy), The viral video in which the Indian batter can be seen practising wicketkeeping is also from the NCA.

Rahul last played for India in March 2023, against Australia in the ODI series. As the Indian team prepares for some big matches such as the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023 at home, KL batting in full flow and keeping would be a piece of good news for him and the Indian team fans.

Jasprit Bumrah to make a comeback in Ireland series

Interestingly, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna were both declared fit and are set to play in the Indian squad against Ireland in the T20I series. Where star Indian pacer Bumrah has been named Indian skipper for the five 20-format series. Speaking of wicketkeeper choices for the Indian side, Ishan Kishan was named Player of the Series in the three ODI series that India won 2-1 against West Indies for his brilliant batting at the top of the order.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant's recovery before the coming World Cup is likely next to impossible. So, Kishan's place in the 2023 ODI WC is most likely to be challenged by Sajnu Samson and Rahul. Now that Samons and Kishan are in the Indian squad for the five matches T20I series against the West Indies, starting on August 3, it will be interesting to see which player will get the opportunity in this series to cement his place for the ODI World Cup 2023.
