Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the finest bowlers in the history of the Indian premier league. The leg spinner has often been the strike bowler for his team. The Haryana bowler was initially picked by Mumbai Indians but mostly played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the last couple of seasons, Chahal has been playing for Rajasthan Royals.

Chahal is the highest wicket-taker for the Bangalore-based franchise. The 32-year-old played for RCB from 2014 to 2021 in 113 matches and claimed 139 wickets at an incredible average of 22.03, a strike rate of 17.43, at an economy of 7.48, including two 4-wicket hauls. Bowling mostly on a flat wicket like M Chinnaswamy stadium with shorter boundaries, these are excellent numbers. In IPL 2023, Chahal became the highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL.

Despite these exceptional numbers, Chahal was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 season. The thought process was probably to go for Chahal in the auctions. But RCB did not go hard for Chahal in the auctions for IPL 2022. The Bangalore think tank went for Wanindu Hasaranga instead, who is the main spinner of RCB for now.

'Lack of communication from the management - Chahal

Speaking about RCB in a YouTube show, the star spinner spoke about the lack of communication from the management of the franchise. Chahal said "I played around 140 matches for RCB, but I received no proper communication from them. They promised me that they would go all out for me. I got very angry after that, I played for them for 8 years.โ€ and expressed his disappointment.

The leg spinner also mentioned that M Chinnaswamy stadium is his favourite and he loves to play there. It is not the first time that a player has complained about the lack of communication from the management of RCB. Many players have expressed their disappointment with the think tank of RCB in the past. The West Indian star batter Chris Gayle also revealed the same when he was released in 2018.
