Pro Kabaddi League Season 9: Player auction to happen on August 5th and 6th

Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 is just around the corner and the auction dates for the league has been revealed

Vivo Pro Kabaddi League season 9 is nearing. And the player auction for the same will happen on August 5th and 6th. As many as 500 players will go in the auction. There will be three categories of players: Domestic, International and New Young Players. This will further be divided into four categories: Category A, B, C and D. Each team will have a purse of 4.4 crores for the auction.

Category A’s base price is 30 Lakhs, for B it is 20 Lakhs, for C it is 10 Lakhs and for D it is 6 Lakhs. The excitement of the auction is adding up with each passing day. Mr Anupan Goswami, CEO of the sports league, Disney India has opined that the auction will encourage new-age players. The top 24 players of the Khelo India Games 2021, will also be a part of the 500 players pool.

“As we get ready for the Season 9 Player Auction, very exciting times lie ahead for kabaddi as a sport and our players. Every season has witnessed the emergence of new talented players and I am certain that there are a lot of surprises in store for us this year as well,” he said. The CEO of the U Mumba team, Supratik Sen revealed that their team players have caught the central attention. He said that they are proud of it. He also added that PKL is the only league to have most matches in India.

“The VIVO Pro Kabaddi Player Auction is a celebration of Kabaddi players across the world. Some of our kabaddi players have caught the attention of fans throughout eight seasons and they are ready to up the ante in Season 9,” Sen said. “It has the largest number of matches for any national league in India,” he added.

The head of the Adani Sportsline, Satyam Trivedi said that they are excited about the auction. He said that he would do the best to get the best players in the Gujarat team. “We at Gujarat Giants are looking forward to some exciting bids and build a strong squad for the upcoming Season 9,” Trivedi said.
