Rajasthan Rajasthan

Rajasthan had a memorable season last time around but fell at the final frontier as they lost the final to Gujarat in Ahmedabad. They would be hoping to clear the final step and win their second title and their first since 2008.

Rajasthan were quite vocal in the auctions that were held last December and have made some buys to strengthen their side. These buys might prove to be the difference for the franchise and help them in their quest to the title.

Taking a look at the possible playing XI for Rajasthan in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League :

1) Top Order

The Rajasthan Royals are probably going to stick with their opening lineup from the previous year. This time, it's better since Yashasvi and Jos Buttler are both in excellent shape and prepared to dismantle the opposition's bowling assault.

Sanju Samson needs to have a good Indian T20 League season this time around if he wants to have any chance of slotting into the Indian team for the upcoming World Cup.

2) Middle Order

Devdutt Padikkal at number 4 is a nice option to have as he has shown his aggressive game more often than not and can even anchor the innings after some early wickets. He can be a good option to have for the Rajasthan side in the long season

Shimron Hetmyer is likely to handle the finishing duties at number 5. He has been a key part of the franchise and will look to do his role to perfection once again this time around.

3) All-rounders

Jason Holder's addition makes the Rajasthan Royals' all-rounder department appear stronger this time. He can swing the bowl and trouble the batters with his height. He can be a gun bowler and can chip in with some runs as well, making him a key addition to the side.

Rajasthan also have Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin in addition to Holder. Together, the trio makes a superb all-arounder set that complements one another. Riyan Parag might slot at number 6 to play the finisher's role and complete chases and has been in excellent form for the side in the past few seasons.

4) Bowlers

Prasidh Krishna is likely to be replaced by Kuldeep Sen after the former was ruled out of the tournament following an injury to his back.

Yuzvendra Chahal would take over as head of the spin department and would want to show his class once again and cement his place in the Indian team for the coming World Cup. Whereas Trent Boult will set to continue to oversee the pace department.
