'Phir bhi kuch farak nahi padega' - Fans react as Pakistan announce replacements for Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf in Asia Cup 2023 squad

Pakistan have won a game and lost one in the Super Four stage in Asia Cup 2023. in the group stage they had 238 run win against Nepal.

The Pakistan team suffered their biggest loss in ODI cricket against India as they went down to the Men in Blue by 228 runs in Colombo. India defeated them in all departments. The Men in Blue bossed proceedings with the bat and they also were very clinical with the ball. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored centuries with the bat and Kuldeep Yadav picked up a five-wicket haul for India.

Pakistan have announced cover-ups for Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf in the form of Shanawaz Dahani and  Zaman Khan. Haris Rauf had some inflammation and also some discomfort in his left flank on the reserve day of the India-Pakistan fixture. When it came to Naseem Shah he did not come out to bat when Pakistan were eight wickets down. There were handshakes and India got a big boost with their net-run rate courtesy of the win.

Pakistan will have their next game against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2023

Pakistan have been playing cricket pretty much nonstop. The Men in Green had a home series against New Zealand. Then they played a Test series against Sri Lanka, followed by the Lanka Premier League (LPL) then before the Asia Cup they had a three-match series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka. One of the talking points were that Pakistan could face burnout heading into the Asia Cup and now it has happened.

The Men in Green however have had a good run in the Asia Cup. They beat Nepal in commanding fashion at home by 238 runs.  Then they had a rain-hit encounter against India. In the Super Four stages, Pakistan started off very convincingly against Bangladesh and beat them by 7 wickets. Pakistan had also made it to the finals of the Asia Cup in 2022 where they lost to Sri Lanka.

Pakistan will want to come back in a strong fashion in their next game against Sri Lanka. The Islanders have also done very well in the multilateral tournament so far and they will play their next game against India on September 12.
