Former India skipper Virat Kohli has not played much cricket in 2023 as a result of the team management's experiment. He is, nevertheless, the highest-earning Indian on the photo and video blogging social networking site Instagram.

According to a Hopper HQ report, the former India captain charges INR 11.45 Cr for each Instagram post. He currently has 256 million followers on the network. Without a doubt, Kohli is every advertiser's dream since he has a massive fan following all over the world and hence everyone wants to make endorsements with him.

Virat Kohli face of world cricket

Virat Kohli is the only Indian to have made it to the top 20 list globally. The star batter has returned to India after the ODI series against West Indies. He will now be a part of the Indian side for the upcoming mega events like Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup. His form will be key for India’s chances at the marquee events.

Cristiano Ronaldo has once again outperformed the competition, becoming Instagram's best earner for the third year in a row. Ronaldo is paid USD 3.23 million for every Instagram post. This large payment comes as Ronaldo approaches 600 million followers on the social media behemoth.

His arch-rival on the list, Argentina's Lionel Messi, earns over USD 2.6 million for each Instagram post. This puts Ronaldo and Messi ahead of not just other athletes, but even notable personalities like as singer Selena Gomez, reality TV star and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner, and actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Only two other athletes, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Brazilian footballer Neymar, reached the top 20, with Neymar earning nearly twice per post as his fellow Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Kylian Mbappe.

Mike Bandar, co-founder of Hopper HQ, was astounded to discover how worldwide celebrities' revenues on Instagram had skyrocketed over the years. He also emphasised how athletes' influence goes beyond the playing field.

Bandar said, "It's still shocking to me that the annual money made on the platform increases every year." "Yet, what fascinates me more is the consistent players at the top."
