India lost the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 by 6 wickets. Australia overcame the crowd of India, the big day situation, and everything else to register a fantastic win in the final. Travis Head was the star of the show, who scored a brilliant hundred in the team's win. Australia outperformed India in all facets of the game and emerged victorious against India. The loss led to heartbreak for many players and fans of the team.
Opting to bowl first, India was restricted to 240 runs in their 50 overs. Australia assessed the conditions well and came up with plans against every player. With the ball, Australia used better matchups and attacked every player with a good mindset. With the ball and as a fielding unit, Australia had a terrific field day. India had absolutely no answers to a spirited side like Australia.

The left-right-handed combination worked for Australia, as the duo scored runs calculatively. In the initial phase of their partnership, the two batters played watchfully. Later on, they got settled in the middle and launched an attack on India. While Labuschagne anchored the innings of Australia, Head took the attack on India and took the game away from India.
As the winning moment approached for Australia, there was a visible disappointment among Indian players. Head's 137(120) ensured India's only loss in the tournament. Following the loss, Rohit Sharma was seen crying. The Indian captain shed tears, as he could not digest the loss. Despite giving his everything as a batter, Rohit could not lift the trophy, which hurt him a lot.
