Naveen-ul-Haq has come a long way in his career till now. Despite being a young cricketer, Naveen has already suffered many injuries. It has forced him to retire from ODIs to concentrate on shorter formats of the game for recovery time. More importantly, his career got a big turn during the IPL 2023. In the season earlier this year, Naveen shined as a bowler and also came to be known for other reasons.

During the match between LSG and RCB in the tournament, Naveen had a confrontation with the Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli. Following the faceoff, Virat tried to shake hands with Naveen after the match. But the LSG pacer had refused to shake hands with Virat. Even after the presentations, Virat tried to talk with Naveen, but the youngster refused to.

Since then, Naveen has been disliked by Virat's fans. The two cricketers had indirect jibes at each other on social media throughout the summer. Naveen did not play a game after that till the ODI World Cup 2023. Virat and Naveen faced each other for the first time in more than 6 months, when India played Afghanistan in the tournament.

In the match, the two cricketers decided to end their differences with each other. When they did, the crowd acknowledged the sportsmanship spirit. Virat also asked the crowd to not mock Naveen, and rather support him in the following matches in the tournament. The fans did exactly the same when Afghanistan took on England in Delhi in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Fans cheered the Afghanistan pacer with chants of "Naveen bhai...Naveen bhai..." and uplifted the mood of Naveen. In turn, Naveen acknowledged the support he got from the fans. Naveen replied to the crowd with a thumbs up. The fans were happy with the gesture of Naveen. In the match, the Asian side created history, as they won their first-ever ODI against England. Naveen dismissed Jos Buttler with a beautiful seaming delivery.
