Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan was booed by the fans during the ODI World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands. Apparently, the Tigers, Bangladesh have lost five back-to-back games in the tournament. They started the tournament with a massive win against Afghanistan. Since then, the team is yet to win a game and has become the first team to be knocked out of the semis race.

We were sloppy in the field: Shakib Al Hasan

Meanwhile, talking about the game, the Dutch won the toss and elected to bat first. At one stage, they were reduced to 107/5. However, thanks to the lower order, the team reached 229 all-out at the end of the innings. In reply, the Asian side was bowled out for 142 runs, losing the game by 87 runs. 

"I thought we bowled really well but we were sloppy in the field. We should have restricted them to 160-170 from the position we were in. But we have been poor with the bat all tournament and this is as bad as it gets. There is more cricket to come and we have to pick up ourselves and I know it's hard but we have to try to finish the tournament on a high. Throughout the tournament we have been struggling, I don't know what's on the players' minds," Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan said in the post-match.
