Shreyas Iyer gestured the medal celebration towards the dressing room after taking a sensational catch to dismiss the in-form New Zealand opener Devon Coway off the bowling of Mohammad Siraj in the ODI World Cup 2023. Siraj bowled onto Conway’s pad, which the latter flicked in the air, and Iyer was quick to pounce onto the catch and made himself the front-runner to win the popular ‘Best Fielder’ medal.
Team India is looking for a cohesive unit in this year’s World Cup and the post scenes from the dressing rooms are something to cherish for Indian Cricket fans. The ‘Best Fielder” award is a great initiative started by the fielding coach T. Dilip to commensurate the best fielder of every match and Shreyas Iyer with his commendable effort has put up his name in front to get that medal.

India, who were facing some serious fielding woes in the last few months, especially concerning their catches, have had a wonderful tournament so far and have turned out to be the best fielding team in the World Cup so far with the best catch efficiency among all the other teams participating in the World Cup.
A mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash is on the cards
India and New Zealand are facing each other today in the picturesque stadium of Dharamsala. India has won the toss today and they have elected to field first today taking into account the dew factor that could play an important role in the second innings as the ground is situated at a higher altitude with cooler weather so the due is set to come in and it played an important role in Rohit’s decision of bowling first.
India is the services of Hardik Pandya today as he suffering from an ankle sprain and India has made changes by including SKY and Mohammad Shami in place of Hardik and Shardul Thakur.
On the other hand, New Zealand is playing the same team they played against Afghanistan with Kane Williamson still not playing because he suffered on his thumb. New Zealand possesses a strong seam attack with the likes of Boult, Henry, and Ferguson who will like the surface and cool atmosphere of Dharamsala to make early inroads in the Indian batting line-up and expose their middle order.
