There has been a lot of speculation on the origin of Rachin Ravindra’s name during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. Ravi Krishnamurthy, the father of Rachin Ravindra has cleared the air during an interview with the Print.
Ravi Krishnamurthy said “When Rachin was born, my wife suggested the name, and we didn't spend a lot of time discussing it. The name sounded good, was easy to spell, and was short, so we decided to go with it. It was only some years later that we realised the name was a mix of Rahul and Sachin's names. He wasn't named to make our child a cricketer or anything of the sort”
After his century versus England during the first game in Ahmedabad, Rachin Ravindra was asked about his name. The 24-year-old had said that his father had named him after Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar the two former Indian stalwarts.
The youngster has a close relationship with the city of Bengaluru. Recently he was seen spending time with his grandparents after the game against Sri Lanka. Rachin Ravindra dropped subtle hints on his favourite IPL team.
During his chat with Star Sports India, this is what Rachin Ravindra said “Thank you to the Chinnaswamy Stadium and the crowd for all the support. It is a special place in my heart and I look forward to playing more cricket here”
