Ahead of the India vs. Pakistan match, fans have been disappointed by the official broadcaster. As the Indian Cricket Board had planned a massive musical ceremony ahead of the game, fans were waiting for its live telecast. However, the official broadcaster, Star Sports, took to Twitter and revealed that they would not be telecasting the event.

According to Star Sports, the event is only for an in-person audience, and that's why they will not have a live telecast. The press release said, "The ceremony at the Narendra Modi Stadium before match 12 of the ODI World Cup 2023 has been planned for in-stand fans. The ceremony is not for broadcast. However, we have you covered for the restβ€”the match, the highlights, and everything in between!"

It's worth noting that the Indian Cricket Board has called for famous Bollywood singers like Arijit Singh, Daler Mehndi, Kailash Kher, Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Neha Kakkar, and Darshan Raval to perform at the event. The event will also be attended by celebrities like Anushka Sharma, Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, and others.

The ODI World Cup 2023 didn't have an opening ceremony

It's worth noting that, in a shocking decision, the Indian Cricket Board decided not to have an opening ceremony for the prestigious ODI World Cup 2023. It's the first time in the last 48 years that the event started without an opening ceremony. However, the musical event during India vs. Pakistan match is being criticised by fans and former cricketers as it furiously emphasises the importance of just two teams.

Some fans are also criticising the Indian Cricket Board for giving the best hospitality to the Pakistan Cricket Team. They are alleging that the Board didn't value Indian soldiers who laid down their lives to fight against terrorism. Despite this opposition, the marquee match is set to be attended by a record number of people.

Here is how fans react to no live telecast of the musical ceremony:
