The Indian Cricket Team is sweating it out in Chennai in preparation for the first game against Australia. Both India and Australia have just played each other in a three-match ODI series recently. Pat Cummins and his side are looking to win their sixth ODI World Cup.

Rohit Sharma on the other is leading the team perhaps for the first and only time in ODI World Cup. The 36-year-old will aim to become the third India skipper to win the big title after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni.

India and Australia will meet for the 13th in ODI World Cup. Australia leads the Head-to Head with 8 wins compared to the four wins for India. The last time the two teams met was in the Oval during the 2019 ODI Cricket World.

Team India dons new training kits

In less than 72-hours, India and Australia will open their 2023 ODI World Cup in Chennai. The Indian cricket team is leaving no stone unturned as they gear up for the massive event. Two-time world champions were seen sporting new training kits during practice in Chennai on Thursday.

The new training kit is bright orange in color and it sent the fans into a nostalgic drive. During the 2011 ODI Cricket World Cup which was won by India, the team sported a similar-looking training kit.

Former Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik is one of the men who is excited for the 2023 ODI World Cup to begin. The 38-year-old has said that this might be the last tournament for Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

While speaking to CRICBUZZ, the RCB stumper said “He (Rohit Sharma) is made for big things and has achieved a lot in his career. In many ways, this could be his last ODI World Cup. He’s been a very close friend of mine. We have literally grown together as players and as people.”

Rohit Sharma was the star of Indian batting during the 2019 World Cup with five centuries during the tournament. The then 32-year-old scored over 600 runs but this wasn’t enough to win India the title.

Dinesh Karthik was part of the team that played the Semi-Finals against New Zealand. India lost by a close margin despite a great fightback by Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni. The Indian team and its fans will hope Rohit Sharma can inspire his team to a third World Cup title.
