Australia suffered a blow as they lost Ashton Agar's services from the ODI World Cup. Agar sustained a calf injured and was ruled out of the tournament. Marnus Labuschagne, who was not in the squad initially, was announced the replacement of Agar. But the Australian squad still lacks a genuine spinner to support Adam Zampa, although Glenn Maxwell is a good option.

There is a void in the Australian squad, which is been addressed by many. One of the front runners for the spot was Tanveer Sangha, who was not picked in the squad. Meanwhile, the Australian star spinner Nathan Lyon has revealed that he is fit to bowl 10 overs for the side. Thereby, the experienced campaigner has let everyone know that he can be available for selection.

"I sent Andrew McDonald a text message the other day when I saw Ashton Agar was ruled out. I said, ‘Just to let you know, I’m back bowling 10 overs, I’m right to go. 100 per cent.’ If that happened, I’d do anything to go over and play the World Cup," reported Fox News.

'I’d be more than comfortable going in there' - Nathan Lyon

According to the reports, Lyon let the Australian coach, Andrew McDonald, know that he is fit to bowl and could be considered for the World Cup. "I’d be more than comfortable going in there and doing it if I had to. But in saying that, there has to be a lot of things go wrong, so let’s hope for Australia’s sake that doesn’t happen. Hopefully, they go out there and have a really good campaign," said the report.

Lyon last played competitive cricket in July. During the second Ashes Test, the star spinner suffered an injury, which ruled him out of the series midway. Lyon is neither a regular bowler of Australia in the ODI setup. Although Lyon is ready to bowl, it is unlikely that Australia might consider including him in the squad, as far as Travis Head is ready to play for them.
