Ahead of the semifinals of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, two former Pakistan skippers picked their two finalists. After hosts India, Australia, and South Africa, New Zealand has also qualified for the semifinals. India will take on the Kiwis at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15 in the semifinals, while Australia will lock horns with South Africa in Kolkata's Eden Gardens on November 16.

The winners of both semifinals will face each other in the finals of the prestigious tournament. Meanwhile, speaking about the top four teams on A Sports, former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik picked their two finalists. However, both picked India as a finalist but failed to agree on another one. While Malik picked Australia, Misbah feels that South Africa will play in the finals.

"Mujhe India-Australia ka lagta hai," Malik said. "India-South Africa is for me. All four are good teams. It's about ki us din pe kaun se team acha khelti hai. Saare capable hain ek doosre ko harane ke, but India, in terms of overall balance, is a much better team than all other teams," Misbah added while speaking with A Sports.

Can India avenge the 2019 horror against New Zealand?

The first semifinal game between India and New Zealand will be a mouth-watering game. Both India and New Zealand will be looking to continue their winning run in the prestigious tournament. However, Rohit Sharma-led India will be looking to continue their dominance in the ongoing tournament with a win over New Zealand. They will also look to avenge their 2019 semi-final defeat against the Kiwis and make it to the finals.

On the other hand, Kane Williamson-led New Zealand will look to avenge their league-game loss against India. The team will also be fighting for their first ODI World Cup trophy. The semifinals will take place on November 15 and 16, while the finals will be played on November 19 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
