On Thursday the ODI World Cup 2023 will complete two weeks with the final a month away. David Warner has made some stinging comments on the umpiring seen in the tournament so far. Australia on Monday beat Sri Lanka to win their first game of the ODI World Cup 2023.

The 36-year-old was frustrated after being given out LBW to Dilshan Madushanka. Warner could be seen having a word with the umpire and opting to go for DRS. The decision stayed with the on-field umpire and David Warner had to make his long way back to the hut.

The Australian opener now has lashed out and made some rather interesting comments. During the India versus Pakistan match umpire Marais Erasmus was also under the spotlight on a few occasions.

Australia got off the mark with a win on Monday by 5 wickets in Lucknow. David Warner though isn’t a happy camper as he felt hard done by the decision he got. Speaking to the media after the game the Australian opener lashed out at the decision he received.

David Warner said “I've never had Hawk-Eye come in and explain to us how the technology actually works, it's just for the TV. If they could come in and explain to us how it works, then sometimes we might (choose) not to refer or to refer”

According to the Australian opener the replays he saw on the big screen after opting for DRS were different. “I asked Joel (field umpire) when I was out there just what happened, why did he give it out. He said the ball was swinging back so to his credit, if he thinks that then that's why he's given a decision”

The Australian opener further said “The ball kept low and normally when something hits me on the leg on the outside, I know it's pretty much going down leg. So he (Wilson) said it was swinging back, (but) from my perspective on the replay, it wasn't”

The next match for the five-time World Cup winners is against Pakistan on Friday. The game is to be played in Bangalore and it is a must-win for Australia. Pat Cummins and his team have played three games winning one and losing two. A loss to Pakistan will dent their hopes of a semi-final place in a massive way.
