Virat Kohli was a great captain for India in terms of revamping the fitness standards of the Indian team. The improved fitness levels can help the team and it can lead to the overall betterment of the team in terms of results.

India has seen the good side of this and it has helped the country to get great series wins overseas. Two series win in three years against Australia. The 2020-2021 series is the most historic from an Indian point of view. The series in England which was held in 2021 and finished in 2022 due to coronavirus concerns had seen Virat Kohli lead India for the last time in white flannels and he led the to outstanding victories early on in the series at Lords in London and also at the Kennington Oval in London.

Virat Kohli also got the players conscious of their diet and what they eat, drink and the like this has helped the team to play better and a case in point is that the fast bowlers under the leadership of Virat Kohli had developed greater endurance levels due to better monitoring of fitness and diet which helped the fast bowlers bowl longer spells at the peak of their form which proved useful for India in winning overseas tests and also being dominant at home.

The fast bowlers have thrived under the captaincy of Virat Kohli because fast bowlers in particular are aggressive and so the feisty nature of the fast bowlers goes hand in hand with the aggressive nature that Kohli possesses. He was responsible for developing the pipeline of Indian fast bowlers because he always had a demand for them. The pool of bowlers now developed by India under Kohli has been responsible for winning test matches abroad.

Speaking of the equation that he has with his fast bowlers it has been very good and it continues to be good even to this day. One case, in particular, is Mohammed Siraj whom Kohli had a very close relationship when he joined the Bangalore franchise ranks in 2018. Kohli backed Siraj in lean patches of form and has taken him under his wing and mentored him. He has seen the growth and maturity of Mohammed Siraj in Bangalore.

Kohli has been a leader and will always remain a leader. He gave valuable advice to Mohammed Siraj which helped the quick bowler get the big wicket of Johnny Bairstow in the 3rd ODI which is currently taking place against England in England.
