New Zealand Cricket launches new team kit for the 20-20 World Cup 2022

20-20 World Cup 2022 is less than a month away and the teams have started revealing their kits for the tournament. India and Pakistan have already unveiled their jerseys while England is likely to wear the same kit which they have been donning since July this year. At a time when others teams are trying to figure out their kits, New Zealand Cricket has launched its kit for the showpiece event.

The board took to its social media handles to unveil their kits. Talking about the kit, it is a combination of grey and black. In the '90s, the team used to wear Grey kits. Overall, it is a retro kit. The Unique factor about the new shirt is that the white fern isn't used in the center. The fern has been moved to the top right while the center part includes Southern Cross.

Talking about the team, they have announced their squad for the tournament. Martin Guptill is the only player in the team to play his seventh World Cup. He played his first in 2009 and was part of the team which played its maiden final in 2021. Talking about this year, they will start their campaign against the fellow finalists from last year, Australia.

The Blackcaps are placed in Group 1 alongside Australia, England, and Afghanistan. Two more teams will join them after the preliminary rounds The Kane Williamson-led side will play against Australia on October 22, then they will face Afghanistan four days later. On November 1, they will face England. It will interesting to see which two teams will complete Group 1 which is already termed the 'Gropu of Death'. After all, three powerful teams are already in the Group.
