'Nepotism is everywhere' - Fans spark massive debate as Virender Sehwag's son gets picked for Delhi U-16

This former India cricketers son Aryaveer Sehwag has made it to the Delhi under 16 team in the fifteen and it has triggered a big debate.

Nepotism means someone using his position or power to make it easier for the family members to take up some role or job at any point of time in their lives. Usually, Nepotism is associated with Bollywood in India on a larger scale and the audiences in the country have seen cases emerge from there.

However, Nepotism has crept into cricket as well. It is not only limited to Bollywood. In most cases, star children of celebrities have taken the easy route and get a pathway or a career path into a particular field or industry without much hardship.

On December 6, The Delhi and District Cricket Association announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming match against Bihar in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. One name that immediately hogged the headlines was Aryaveer Sehwag the elder son of the opening batter Virender Sehwag. Aryaveer was not named in the playing XI but his name being in the 15 caught the eyes of the people on social media.

It sparked a big debate amongst the fans

This sparked a debate as some said that Sehwag was influential in getting his son selected into the team and others called it a case of nepotism. This is in a way the fans calling it too quickly without knowing whether his son has come through the ranks by the fruits of his hard labour. Also, no one knows the inside story of the kid.

Sehwag was one of the best strikers of the cricket ball as he redefined the way in Indian Cricket and also the way one would bat in a cricket match. He would hit the ball straight away and take on the bowler in the most aggressive manner and he would even sing songs while batting. He had a no holds barred approach when he batted and had a distinguished career as an Indian player.
