It was a proud moment for the Tendulkar family when Arjun, who made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut a few nights back, bowled a magnificent spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Tuesday, April 18. With SRH needing 20 runs in the final over, captain Rohit Sharma gave the ball to Arjun, who conceded only five runs and picked up his maiden IPL wicket. A collective effort by the Mumbai Indians (MI) players helped the team secure their third straight win in the tournament and move up to the sixth position in the points table.
After bowling the first two overs of the innings, Arjun had to wait until the last over to get his hands on the ball, once again. Chasing a massive total of 193, SRH were 8 down after the 18th over, and MI were almost certain of a victory. However, the presence of a power hitter like Abdul Samad at the crease still gave the hosts a chance. Tendulkar held his nerve and bowled a few yorkers, conceding just five runs in the process.
He removed Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the second last ball of the over, bowling out the opponent for 178 runs and leading his team to a comfortable 14-run victory. The left-arm pacer finished with figures of 1/18 in 2.5 overs, impressing everyone, including his father, Sachin Tendulkar.
The legendary Indian cricketer, who is also the mentor of the MI franchise, hailed Cameron Green's magnificent knock and Arjun for his new-ball performance and the brilliant last over under pressure. He also presented his son with a special badge inside the MI dressing room after the exciting match.

Speaking after the match, Arjun said: "My plan was to just bowl wide and get the batsmen hitting into the longer side. I was itching to bowl, yes. I love bowling and am happy to bowl any time. We (Sachin and him) talk a lot about cricket. We talk tactics and plans. I just focused on my release and the lengths I want to bowl. If it swings, it is a bonus; if it doesn't, so be it."

I don’t understand why there are so many tweets about Arjun. it was a decent performance, doesn’t deserve so much appreciation. looks more like nepotism than talent. But I hope he prove me and many others wrong.
