Narayan Jagadeesan showed the world his metal on Monday when he smashed a record-breaking 277. That innings became the highest score in List A Cricket. The record-breaking innings put Alistar Brown in second place, and his 20-year-old record of having the highest List A score was shattered. Jagadeesan's innings of 277 came off just 141 balls, which contained 25 fours and 15 sixes.

Jagadeesan's earth-shattering hitting helped Tamil Nadu rake up 506-2 in their 50 overs. In reply, the bowlers dismissed a listless-looking Arunachal Pradesh batting lineup for just 71, which gave Tamil Nadu a resounding 435-run win. Here is what he had to say about his knock, "I mean I think not only this game but even in the other games the only aim for me is to play 50 overs. Who the opposition is doesn't matter. There is one process for me, the aim is to stay in the middle."

The Tamil Nadu batter said that he has been putting in the hard yards concerning batting and fitness. "I have been working a lot on my batting and also my keeping and especially on my fitness. I have been doing it for some time now. Eventually, when I score runs I feel good," he said. He has had a wonderful season in the Vijay Hazare Trophy so far, having scored five centuries in the last five matches.

It is the choice of the franchise- Jagadeesan on being released by Chennai

When asked about his favourite knock, here is what he said, "I think I would have to say (the one against) Haryana was very good. They had a good bowling attack and the ball was seaming around even in the 40th over. Obviously, I cherish all the knocks but the Haryana one was tougher."

When asked whether he knew of the momentous milestone, he said that he had no idea that he had gotten to the historic landmark. "No, not really, I was not really thinking about all the records. It was just about batting and following all that I have been doing," he said. The batter put on a 416-run partnership with Sai Sudharshan. This was the record partnership for any wicket in a One Day game.

He was recently released by the Chennai Team ahead of the 2023 Indian T20 League auction. Jagadeesan has scored 73 runs in 7 Indian T20 League matches. He has a high score of 39. "That's not my choice, it was their choice. It is not something which I could control. The only thing I could do was control how I could play," he said on being released by the franchise.
