South African cricket coach and former cricketer Herschelle Herman Gibbs celebrated his 49th birthday on February 23. The Proteas batter is one of the greatest power hitters of all time and was always a nightmare for the opposition bowlers. In an era when T20 cricket was not a thing, Gibbs showed his class in the shorter format with his magnificent sixes.
The star batter took to his Instagram handle to share his birthday celebrations in which Indian actor Kichcha Sudeep is also seen with him. The former cricketer, who is now understood to be in Bangalore, captioned the picture, "Good catching up with Kichcha Sudeepa on my birthday".

Gibbs has played all formats of the game for 14 years and has scored 14661 runs in 361 international matches. He was the first player to hit 6 consecutive sixes in an over in an international match. His massive record in 2007 crushed the Netherlands in the 2007 Cricket World Cup. He played one of the most breathtaking innings ever in ODI cricket, smashing 175 runs off 111 balls to chase down a record 435 runs.
Gibbs' amazing talent was also seen in the fielding department as he was arguably one of the best fielders of his time at any position. However, the power hitter has struggled to find consistency throughout his long career.
In response to the right-handed batter's post, actor Sudeep responded, "Always a pleasure to meet you brother man.." Apart from acting, Sudeep works primarily in Kannada films as a director, producer, screenwriter, television host and singer. He has also worked in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films. The actor has won several awards, including four Filmfare Awards South, and is one of the first Kannada actors to feature in the Forbes list of India's Top 100 Celebrities.
Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer also responded to Gibb's post, saying, "You're my favourite. happy birthday mate." The Proteas batter replied, "love your cakes mate."
Meanwhile, Twitter reacted to seeing Sudeep with the ace cricketer on his birthday. Here are some reactions:
