Cricket fans are some of the most passionate in all of the sports. They go through great hardship just to get a glimpse of their favourite player. Sometimes they even break some barriers in order to get close to their idols.

Something like this happened in the 2nd ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand. While the match played on, there were some young fans who avoided security and tried to get onto the ground.

All of these fans were caught by the police and later taken to the police station. One such fan’s video of being escorted out of National Stadium Karachi has been doing the rounds of the internet.

The cameraman could be heard asking, “Kisse milne gaye the?” The boy replies, “Babar”

The cameraman then asks, what would you like to say to Babar? Hearing the question the young fan began pleading, “Mujhe chhod do sir, mera baap nahi hai (please let me go sir, I don’t have a father).”

Here's the video:

The young fan breaks down in tears while the security escorts him to the police van and takes speeds off to the police station.

The punishment for breaching security at an international game in Pakistan could be upto 2 years of jail or a good amount of money in order to get bail. The young fan could face assault charges as well given Pakistan’s laws around cricket matches have become stricter following the attack on Sri Lanka in 2009.

New Zealand level the series

As for the match, it was won by New Zealand by a huge 79 runs after the host country posted 261 runs target on the board. Kiwi batter Devon Conway continued his rich vein of form as he hit 101 off just 92 balls alongside captain Kane Williamson who also made a significant 85 off 100.

Pakistan batters had no answers for Kiwi bowlers as Tim Southee and Ish Sodhi took 2 wickets each to pack the host team at just 182. Pakistan captain Babar Azam could not take his team to a victory despite playing a valiant inning of 79 off 114.

The series is now level at 1-1 and the third match scheduled for January 13th would be a decider.
