In the third of four Tests for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India will lock horns with Australia. After easily winning the first two Test matches in Nagpur and Delhi, India have already ensured that they will be the ones to take the trophy at the conclusion of the series.
At the completion of the first day of the third Test, Matthew Kuhnemann gave Australia the advantage against India. Kuhnemann took his first five-wicket haul at Indore as India were dismissed for just 109 runs. The left-arm spinner ended the innings with 5/16 in nine overs which is his finest figures in Test cricket in just his second game.
On Day 2 of the third Test match between Australia and India in Indore, Cameron Green and Peter Handscomb gave Australia the best possible start. Prior to Ashwin removing Handscomb for 19, the combination contributed 30 runs to the overnight total of 156/4.
How did Umesh Yadav cause trouble to the Australian batters?
Umesh Yadav was then subsequently called into the attack by Rohit Sharma, and he quickly claimed three wickets in quick time which also included the scalp of the in-form Green. Australia ended their innings with a healthy lead of more than 80 runs. On the other hand, India were able to immediately wrap the Australian tail. Umesh Yadav was able to achieve a rare milestone as he now has over 100 wickets in India.
Australia, meanwhile, were able to go out to an early lead with Matthew Kuhnemann's first five-wicket haul, giving the visitors a 47-run edge on Day 1. Kuhnemann got his best figures in International cricket and his first five wicket haul in only his second Test which would be a massive achievement for him.
Among Kuhnemann's victims were the Indian team's captain Rohit Sharma and his opening partner Shubman Gill. Taking Rohit Sharma's wicket was very important for the Aussies because he was leading the series in terms of runs scored at the start of the game. Kuhnemann also got the fearsome duo of Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin before acquiring the pinch-hitting Umesh Yadav.
Here's how fans reacted to Umesh Yadav's spell that led to the Aussies downfall:

Umesh is a special fast bowler...his bowling is more suitable for Indian pitches with old ball rather than SENA pitches.

Umesh Yadav alone has taken more wickets in just 3 overs than all Pakistan pacers in 3 matches 🤣😆#INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/R6EsJyyhqI
