England were too good for Pakistan on the night of the final which was held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. They did not allow Pakistan to break free as they kept them down to just 137 on the board with Adil Rashid picking 2-22 in his four overs. Sam Curran also bowled a brilliant spell, taking 3-12 in his four overs.

The Pakistan batting failed to show up on the big night and found themselves woefully short. Ben Stokes was the difference between victory and defeat for the Three Lions, thanks to his measured innings of 52 off 49 balls with five fours and one maximum. This gave England their second 20-20 World Cup title.

It was a superb turnaround for Stokes as he put the heartbreak of Kolkata behind him from 2016 and helped England join the West Indies in winning two 20-20 World Cup titles. Immediately after England were declared victors, Shoaib Akthar, who came down heavily on the Indian Cricket Team when they were hammered by England in the semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup by 10 wickets, put out a heartbreaking emoji on Twitter.

Surprisingly, Mohammed Shami reacted to the tweet with a controversial remark. In his Tweet, he wrote,

“Sorry brother” and added “It’s called karma” followed by emojis of a broken heart.

Fans of the Indian Cricket Team were quick to take Shami’s side when he posted the tweet as Akhtar had questioned Mohammed Shami’s inclusion into the Indian 20-20 World Cup squad.

Here is the context of the story-

Akthar had been critical of the Men in Blue’s performance and said that India will not make it to the final. He made this prediction shortly after saying that Pakistan could be out of semi-final contention and that the Men in Green would suffer an early first-round exit. He had also compared India and Pakistan's bowling attacks on the day of the final and said that Pakistan's attack is way better than India's.
