Women's T20 League's Bangalore franchise players played Holi on Tuesday, 07 March 2023. The team management made special preparations for the festival of colors. From their skipper Smriti Mandhana to Ellyse Perry, everyone enjoyed the festival and colored each other. The franchise shared some photos on social media wishing all the fans Happy Holi. Holi is widely celebrated in India with foreigners also participating in the festival of colors. All Indian and overseas players in the Bangalore-based franchise together celebrated the festival.

Meanwhile, talking about Bangalore's performance in the augural edition of the Women’s T20 League, they have disappointed fans despite having some of the best players in the game. After the auction, it looked like they got the strongest team in the tournament and will dominate the first season easily. But, that didn’t happen as they started the tournament with an embarrassing loss against Delhi by a huge margin of 60 runs. That wasn’t all as they suffered another shameful loss against Mumbai by 9 wickets. Bangalore are still looking for their first win in the tournament after losing back-to-back matches.

A brilliant all-round performance by Mumbai against Bangalore

Talking about Bangalore’s second match in which they faced their second defeat of the tournament against Mumbai, Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first. The openers Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine provided a flying start but just like the last match. However, their batting order collapsed again and they lost 4 wickets at the score of just 43. The lower order contributed some handy runs and helped the team to achieve a respectable total of 155 runs.

Chasing the target, Mumbai openers Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia started aggressively and stitched a fiery 45-run partnership for the first wicket. After Bhatia’s departure, it looked like Bangalore would make a comeback in the match but that didn’t happen as Nat Sciver-Brunt joined hands with Matthews and stitched an unbeaten match-winning partnership of 114 runs and chased the target with 9 wickets remaining.
