In a stunning display of cricketing prowess, Australia, led by debut captain Mitch Marsh, achieved an extraordinary victory over South Africa at Kingsmead on Wednesday. Opting to bat first, Australia set a mammoth target of 226-6, only to bowl out the opposition for a mere 115 runs in just 15.3 overs. The Australian batsmen showcased their prowess as they unleashed a relentless assault on the South African bowlers.

With Tim David’s solid half-century and Mitchell Marsh’s unbeaten 92 off just 49 balls, Australia amassed a colossal score of 226 runs for the loss of six wickets after putting to batting first. Their aggressive approach left the South African bowlers reeling and searching for answers. Opener Reeza Hendricks led a near lone challenge to Australia’s total with a well-constructed 56 from 43 balls.

Fans reacting to the marsh’s batting said that he was sending the balls in mars as he hit balls outside the stadium in the game, few said to be he is a threat for every team in the World Cup and every team should have a look on him.

Sangha Shines on debut picked up 4/31 in the opening game.

Sangha was a surprise selection in Australia's preliminary squad for the 13th edition of the World Cup in India later this year and the leg-spinner displayed some match-winning qualities as he collected the superb figures of 4/31 in the opening match of the three-game series against the Proteas. It was a dream debut for Sangha, who picked up the vital wickets of Aiden Markram, Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs and Marco Jansen as Australia registered a comprehensive 111-run victory.

Australia took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after posting 226 for six in their 20 overs, the highest score at Kingsmead, before restricting South Africa to 115 all out in a reply that never really got going.

The second match in the series is on Friday before it concludes two days later. All three games will be played in Durban. Both sides are missing several of their regulars.
