Manchester United set to cease Cristiano Ronaldo's contract and press charges against him - Reports

Right after Cristiano Ronaldo's interaction with Pierse Morgan went viral, Manchester United initiated a strict rebuttal and took the steps they saw fit. media interview went viral. According to reports that have come in, United is thinking of finding a replacement for the all-time football great.

According to ESPN, the club wants to take an action against Ronaldo for a breach of contract. The Legal counsellors have been in talks with the club after Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan created a storm on social media when certain parts of it were viewed on Sunday.

If Ronaldo’s contract ceases, then it will only drive a deeper wedge between the player and the club. On another note, 15 million pounds of the contract are still to be repaid to Ronaldo. The huge amount is still left even after the striker took a loss of pay when United crashed out of this season’s Champions League.

On Thursday, the top brass of United had a meeting where all the bigwigs such as Joel Glazer, the chairman of the club, Chief Executive Richard Arnold, and John Murtough, the director of football, were having a meeting in which Eric Ten Hag was a part of. He stated that he never wants to see Ronaldo play for United again.

In the Interview with Piers Morgan, he said that he did not see eye to eye with the manager of Manchester United because he did not value Ronaldo enough. "I don't have respect for him, because he don't show respect for me." The coach did not have respect for me, he said. He also said the relationship is very strained because of this. He keeps saying to me that he likes me and blah blah blah but it is only for the press.

He further added, saying, "You don't put me on against Manchester City because of respect for my career and you want to put me on for three minutes against Tottenham? It doesn't make sense, I think he did it on purpose. I felt provoked not only because of that game, but before. He don’t respect the way i should deserve. But it is what it is. This is why probably, the game against Tottenham, I left."
