Now, one of their own, Maheesh Theekshana comes up along with his Chennai franchise of the Indian T20 League to help the people of this country. This news has been shared on the Twitter platform as it is a great gesture from a current cricketer during a time of crisis.

In this situation, the Sri Lankan spinner decided to allocate part of his earnings from the recently concluded Indian T20 League. As per reports from News9, Theekshana carried the medicines from India following the conclusion of the tournament. His franchise helped him to allocate excess luggage to travel with the medical supplies.

Speaking about this help, he said that he is quite humbled to help his people in that situation. He is quite blessed also for being able to deliver the required supplies in this hard time. The spinner added: “I am blessed and humbled to contribute towards this desperate hour of their need,"

He also thanked his franchise Chennai for helping him in allocating all the required supplies in this crisis time. Speaking about his career, he had become an integral part of the Sri Lankan bowling unit. He picked up 10 wickets in nine ODIs with an economy rate of 4.07 while bagging 16 wickets in 18 T20Is at an economy of 6.44. Even, former cricketers like Roshan Mahanama took to social media platforms to urge their teammates to come up with some help in this situation. He himself had been found serving tea and buns to people queuing up at a petrol station. In this series against Australia, Theekshana picked up two wickets in all three matches at an economy of 6.58.
