The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will conclude on May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with two of the league's dominating teams set to face off in the season finale. The IPL 2023 has produced a lot of thrilling action for the fans from the start of the tournament, and they have been waiting for the moment to see who will lift the elusive trophy.

Apart from enjoying the matches, cricket enthusiasts and experts are also involved in predictions, which makes the tournament more intense among them. However, often those predictions will not be accurate. Meanwhile, in a surprising turn of events, former Australian captain Steven Smith made an accurate prediction about the IPL 2023 final in March, leaving fans stunned.

Smith, who is currently part of the commentary team for IPL 2023, made a bold prediction on March 28 that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will be in the final this season.

The Chennai-based franchise finished second-last in IPL 2020, but bounced back in style the following year, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final. The stage is now set for MS Dhoni and Co to lift their fifth title when the Yellow Brigade takes against the defending champions in the summit clash on Sunday.

Hardik Pandya's side advanced to the final after a thumping win over MI in Qualifier 2 and will be eyeing for there second successive IPL success. CSK, on the other hand, have recorded 10 finals in 14 seasons of the league – the most of any team – and will be eager to continue their dominance in the final.
