The Caribbean Premier League 2022 is witnessing some cracking games and match 18 between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors was no different. The Warriors skipper Shimron Hetmyer won the toss and elected to field first.

Tion Webster and Nicholas Pooran opened the innings for the Knight Riders. The team fumbled on the very first ball as Romario Shepherd deceived the former with a straight ball for an LBW. It was a difficult powerplay for the team as they lost two wickets inside it.

However, the New Zealand star Colin Munro and Tim Seifert steadied the innings in the middle overs for the Knight Riders. At the end of the 16th over, the Knight Riders remained at 108 for 5. The death overs turned out to be a great one for the team as Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine smashed a few boundaries. The Knight Riders ended up at 150 for 8 at the end of the first innings.

Colin Munro was the hero with the bat for the team while Romario Shepherd outclassed with the ball for the warriors.

The Knight Riders claim the win

The Warriors had a decent powerplay albeit they lost three wickets in it. The sixth over witnessed three maximums at the courtesy of Henrich Klaasen. Shimron Hetmyer and Colin Ingram tried their best to steady the innings in the middle overs but in a losing cause.

The Hetmyer-led team have been struggling this season and are placed last in the points table. The team lacked intent in the match against the Knight Riders barring the top-order. Sunil Narine kept picking wickets at regular intervals and closed the doors for the Warriors.

However, it was Trinbago Knight Riders who claimed the crucial win against the Warriors as the latter succumbed for 124. Sunil Narine bowled a terrific spell as he bagged a two-for and conceded only nine runs.
