The report further added that the wall of the Leicester ground has a portrait of Sunil Gavaskar in it. “I am delighted and honoured that a ground in Leicester is being named after me. Leicester is a city with possibly the strongest supporters of the game, especially Indian cricket, and therefore it is a huge honour indeed,” Gavaskar said to TOI.
Gavaskar has played some of the most famous knocks for the Indian cricket team and he is still respected beyond borders. It has also been revealed that the former Indian batter will unveil his name plaque on the Leicester ground.
