The curtain has fallen on the 2023 English Premier League season, leaving fans captivated by a thrilling final day. Gameweek 38 proved to be an exhilarating affair, even with the Champions League spots and the champions already determined. Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brentford found themselves locked in a fierce battle for a Europa Conference League spot, while Everton, Leicester City, and Leeds United fought for survival.
In a series of gripping events at the King Power Stadium and Goodison Park, Everton successfully secured their place in the top flight for another season, ensuring their continued presence among England's elite. However, the fate was less favorable for Leicester City, Leeds United, and Southampton, who will find themselves competing in the Championship during the 2023/24 campaign.
With this result, Leicester City became the second side to get relegated after winning the Premier League title. Blackburn Rovers were the first side to get relegated after winning the title in the Premier League era.

Dean Smith’s side put up a strong fight in the final games of the season but it proved to be too little and too late. With relegation, Leicester City also becomes the most expensive squad to get relegated from the English top flight.
Leicester City’s season in retrospective:
The Foxes endured a dismal start to the season, securing just one win in ten games under the leadership of Brendan Rodgers. However, the club displayed resilience and quickly recovered from their early struggles, managing to establish a four-point cushion above the relegation zone prior to the FIFA World Cup break. At the time of the break, Leicester City occupied the 12th position on the points table.
Despite the club's continued struggles following the World Cup, Leicester City opted to retain Brendan Rodgers as their manager. Unfortunately, this decision proved costly, as the team failed to find their stride. Compounding their woes, the club faced challenges in adequately replacing their influential leader, Kasper Schmeichel, during the summer transfer window, further exacerbating their difficulties.
