Legends League Cricket 2022: Venues for the league announced, Eden Gardens to host the season opener

The CEO of the Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja assured fans of a cracker of a season

Legends League Cricket is set to get underway from September 16 to 8th October, while the one on September 16 will be a special match. World Giants will take on India Maharajas to celebrate the 75th year of Indian Independence at Kolkata on September 16. Sourav Ganguly will wear the captaincy hat for India Maharajas while English world cup winning captain Eoin Morgan will lead the World Giants team.

Apart from the special match, the Eden Gardens will host two more matches until September 18. Lucknow and Jodhpur will be the only two venues that will be hosting two matches. Kolkata, New Delhi and Cuttack will host three matches each. Raman Raheja, the CEO of the league said that he was excited about the event and added that he was thrilled at the same time.

He assured the fans of a fantastic season and admitted that it will be a cracker of a series. Raheja revealed that the dates for ticket availability will be informed soon.

“The wait is over for our fans and viewers. They can plan for the matches with the announcement of fixtures. We are soon announcing our ticketing partner along with the dates for the availability of tickets online.  With the line up of iconic player from the 10 nations in a new format, I am sure fans will experience powerful performances on the pitch and a great season this year,” Raheja opined.

The CEO also revealed the exclusion of Pakistan players in the tournament and said that they will draft more international players at the earliest. Raman Raheja further said that he aims to hold the finals at Dehradun this year.

“We are not getting any players from Pakistan for the upcoming season. We will soon be adding some more international players into the Draft. And all our Legends would be playing full season with us and not miss any matches for any other League or commitment,” he added.

Kolkata: 16th to 18th September 2022
Lucknow: 21st to 22nd September 2022
New Delhi: 24th to 26th September 2022
Cuttack: 27th to 30th September 2022
Jodhpur: 1st and 3rd October 2022
Play-Offs: 5th, 7th October, 2022 – Venue to be announced
Finals: 8th October 2022- Venue to be announced
