Ahead of the prestigious ODI World Cup, the stage for the India vs. Pakistan clash in next year's T20 World Cup has been finalized. According to media reports, Apex Cricket Council and hosts Caribbean Cricket Board have decided to schedule the India vs. Pakistan game in New York, USA. The match will be witnessed by almost 34,000 people in the United States.
After discussion for almost three months, the Apex Cricket Council has finally arranged the venue for the marquee clash. It is worth noting that the upcoming T20 World Cup will be hosted by the Caribbean Cricket Board in the West Indies and the United States of America. In order to get maximum viewers, Apex Cricket Council has pitched the India vs. Pakistan match in New York. However, broadcasters were concerned about the lack of cricket infrastructure in the US.
The Apex Cricket Council wants to host at least 17 matches in the United States of America, including India vs. Pakistan. However, a lack of infrastructure and proper arrangements has raised concerns over the credibility of the T20 World Cup. To negotiate this, the Council decided to build a 34,000-seat cricket stadium in New York's Van Cortlandt Park. The plan was to build the stadium by January 2024 and dismantle it after the tournament.
Bronx community groups oppose the construction in New York
When everything seemed to be on track, various Bronx community groups opposed the construction of the stadium at Van Cortlandt Park. This led to a significant delay in finalising the venue for the competition. However, a recent news report suggests that after months of discussion, both parties have agreed to go with the plan, and India vs. Pakistan in New York looks like it has been confirmed for now.
At present, only two venues in the USA demonstrate readiness to host international cricket matches. Dallas, with a seating capacity exceeding 5,000, provides a suitable facility. Meanwhile, Lauderhill, equipped with approximately 5,000 seats, has the flexibility to accommodate an additional 10,000–15,000 spectators in its open spaces.

Changing the denominator for the ticket price. These matches will be sold as rich Asians flock to see and cricket control boards earn in dollars.
