After major reveals in a sting operation, Chetan Sharma, the chairman of the Selection Committee of the Indian Cricket Board, is set to be fired from his position. Sharma made major revelations in the recent sting operation, including the use of 'fake fitness' injections, the influence of prominent players in the selection process and the reasons behind the infamous ego clash between Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly.

It was earlier understood that the Indian Cricket Board might give Sharma a final chance to defend himself. The immediate question in the board is whether Sharma will be allowed to attend the next selection meeting before the third and fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia.

It is understood that the recent sting operations have not had a too good impact on the top brass of the Indian Cricket Board. It is expected to have far-reaching effects on the relationship between the media and the Cricket Board.

"No player or selector will be comfortable on sharing a cordial relationship even with well-meaning journalists after this sting as the trust factor has been compromised," a senior source from the Indian Cricket Board said.

"Chetan spoke a bit too much. None of the top India players talk to him. Have you seen him speak to Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma publicly in any training session? He would stand in one corner during the 20-20 World Cup in Australia, and no one bothered to speak to him," another source from the Indian Cricket Board added.

It has been learnt that Chetan Sharma might be given a final chance to defend himself, but whether he could sit across the table with Rohit Sharma or Hardik Pandya, players he accused of influencing the selection process, is the question. The bigger question, however, is whether these players would want to have any engagement with him.
