Rishabh Pant made his appearance at the Arun Jaitley stadium for supporting the Delhi franchise in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2023 match against Gujarat. Delhi is not leaving any chance to give tribute to their regular skipper as he is not a part of the ongoing season, as he is is on recovery mode. In their first match against Lucknow, Pant’s jersey was also seen on the roof of Delhi's dugout.

The 25-year-old Indian batter met with a major car accident in December 2022. After that, he went on to undergo ligament surgery due to which, he is missing from cricketing action for the past three months. However, it looks like Pant is recovering well as he shared several images of himself on his social media in which he is also giving updates on his recovery.

Delhi posted a competitive total after a poor start

Talking about the match, Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked Delhi to bat first. Delhi didn’t have a great start as they lost Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh under five overs. Mohammed Shami provided early breakthroughs for Gujarat in the powerplay. After that, skipper David Warner played another steady knock as he got out after scoring 37 runs off 32 balls hitting seven boundaries.

Warner was bowled by Alzarri Joseph on the second ball of the ninth over. On the very next delivery, Joseph struck again as he dismissed Rilee Rossouw for a golden duck, thanks to the brilliant low catch by Rahul Tewatia after Rossouw’s bat found the edge of the sharp bouncer. Sarfaraz Khan was also seen struggling with the bat as he got out after scoring 30 runs off 34 balls. After that, Abishek Porel and Axar Patel went on to produce some big hits in death overs. Porel got out after scoring 20 off 11 smashing two sixes, while Axar got out after scoring 36 off 22 hitting two fours and three sixes.

Delhi went on to score 162 runs in their 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan took 3-3 wickets each for Gujarat, while Alzarri Joseph put 2 in his bag. Gujarat now needs 163 runs to register their second win of the season.
