The Brazilian star footballer Neymar could possibly play in India as his club, Al Hilal is drawn in the same group as Mumbai City FC in the AFC Champions League. Mumbai-based side is in Group D. Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal reached the finals of the AFC Champions League in the last edition but lost against Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds in the AFC Champions League.
However, the Neymar side, Al Hilal, is a four-time champion in the tournament; this time they have Napoli legend Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Portuguese midfielder Dynamo Ruben Neves, and French defender Kalidou Koulibaly. It is pertinent to mention that Iranian side FC Nassaji Mazandaran and Uzbekistan’s Nabahor are the other two sides in Group D with Al Hilal and Mumbai City FC.

However, a total of 40 teams in the AFC Champions League are divided into 10 groups. In each group, four teams are present, while out of the 10 groups, five comprise teams from the West Zone (groups A to E) and five are teams from the East Zone (groups F to J).
As per the rules, the top team from each group, along with the three best second-place teams from the 10 groups in each zone, will progress to the knockout stages starting in the round of 16. The continental football championship for the cycle 2023-24 group stages will begin on September 18.
Talking about the Indian Super League (ISL) club, Mumbai City-FC, they won the ISL season last year and are now in the Asian Champions League for the second successive season. Mumbai will play their all-home matches in Pune’s Sh Kya baat hai sir kya baat hai.

In the last edition, the Indian side Mumbai created history by becoming the first Indian club to register a win after beating Iraq’s Air Force Club. But they were knocked out in the group stage as they finished fifth in the group.
