Pakistan cricket is going through a rough patch currently. The Men in Green have lost two major finals in 2022, namely the Asia Cup 2022 Final as well as the 20-20 World Cup Final.
To top it off they invited the England Test team after a gap of 17 years and got whitewashed in an embarrassing fashion. That is not the end of their current problems. On the management front, they have been having issues of their own.
Former Pakistan chairman Ramiz Raja has brought out all sorts of controversy after being removed from the post. Amidst all that, the Pakistan cricket team is playing a match against New Zealand at National Stadium Karachi.
After winning the toss, Tim Southee had decided to bat first on a pitch that looked flat as they come. Owing to the flatness of the wicket, Kiwi openers Tom Latham (71) and Devon Conway (122) made a 134-wicket partnership for the first wicket and the team posted 449 at the board.
Pakistan bowlers huffed and puffed but they could not clean up the Kiwi tail easily as Matt Henry made an unbeaten 68. Pakistan in reply played until Day 4 and made 408 runs on the board.
The game was heading towards a draw but the Kiwi captain took matters into their hand and declared the innings at 277/5. They also dismissed two Pakistan batters at the end of Day 4. Pakistan needed in excess of 300 runs on the last day.
On the last day, only Sarfaraz Ahmed could make a significant contribution as he made 118 runs off 176 balls. Pakistan however were put into a spot of bother in the dying embers of the game. The end of the match however was again poor as the umpires decided to stop the game due to bad light when 15 runs were required off 18 deliveries.
Here's how Twitter reacted to Pakistan vs New Zealand 2nd Test draw
Teams who play day 1 to day 4 of test match without thinking of a win doesn't deserve to win the match.

3.5 R.P.O is giving a thrilling day 5's for audience but 4 R.P.O would create more chances for a result.

Bad Light and Umpires save Pakistan from another test match defeat at Home. Pak didn't win a single match at home during this WTC cycle. π#PAKvsNZ

Another little grey area in the rule book imo. If the fielding team is told to bowl spin because of bad light and they take the option, they should be forced to finish the overs with spin until the Umps call it off, cause they can bring seam on at any time to finish the match.
