India played two T20 internationals against South Arica at home before taking the flight to Australia for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. In the first game, India had to chase a low total of 107 runs and KL Rahul scored a half-century to guide his team home.

In the next match, he wreaked havoc with the bat. Rahul showed intent right from the onset of his innings as he scored 57 runs in 28 balls, including 4 fours. In the warm-up match against Australia, he yet again went berserk without wasting any time to get settled at the crease. The Indian opener played a beautiful knock of 57 in 33 deliveries.

He looked in solid touch heading into the highly anticipated match against Pakistan. It was a big game in a 20-20 World Cup and fans had a lot of expectations from India’s vice-captain. Chasing a 160-run target, KL Rahul looked to play cautiously but couldn’t stay there for too long.

The Indian opener tried to defend a Naseem Shah's delivery but the ball took the inside edge and went on to hit the stumps. Rahul, once again, failed to make an impact in a big game as he departed for just 4 runs in 8 balls.

In the next match against the Netherlands, the Indian opener failed to deliver once again as he departed for just 9 runs in 12 balls. The Indian star batter has had dismal outings so far in the tournament and the fans have been trolling him left, right, and centre because of that.
