India pacer Mukesh Kumar has made his debut in all three formats of the game in the ongoing West Indies tour, while Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey stated that Mukesh has the potential to serve Team India in all three formats of the game. The pacer from Bengal has come into the limelight after his domestic arena performance for India A, he made his debut in Indian Premier League (IPL) in the 2023 edition in which he performed averagely for Delhi Capitals (DC).

The 29-year-old right-arm pacer became the second India pacer after T Natarajan to debut in all three formats on the same tour. Speaking of the series, India is trailing behind 1-2 in the five-match T20I series as the visitors lost the first two games of the series. However, Team India came back in the last game to make a comeback in the series. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma shined with the bat as they chased down the 160-run target with seven wickets in hand and 13 balls remaining.

You need someone like Mukesh Kumar to come here on a tour: Indian bowling coach

"I’m extremely happy with the way he has progressed. Not many people get the opportunity to feature in all three formats. But to get a chance to play in all three formats is fantastic,” “Very happy with the way he has progressed; the thought process, the discussion we had with him and his approach towards the game is fabulous,” said Indian bowling coach to reporters ahead of fourth T20I

But the way he has gone about it and the character he has shown extremely happy, "Going forward, since we know he is capable of playing all three formats, we need to be smart with his workload management. He has played a lot of domestic cricket and got quality skills out there," he further added.

Now with the Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023 just around the corner, it is evident that the Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer performed well in the remaining two games and might have a chance in the continental championship, starting on August 30.
