Notably, Rohit Sharma-led India will face Australia in the finals at the iconic Oval Cricket Ground in London from June 7.

Ahead of the prestigious game, the Apex Cricket Council announced the names of match officials. In a press release apex council said, "Chris Gaffaney of New Zealand and Richard Illingworth of England will be the on-field umpires at The Oval for the marquee clash between Australia and India. They will be supported by England's Richard Kettleborough, who has been appointed as the TV umpire, while Sri Lanka's Kumar Dharmasena will act as the fourth umpire. Richie Richardson of the West Indies will be the match referee."

Notably, both Gaffaney and Illingworth are very experienced Elite umpires of the Apex Council. The Test Championship finals will be the 49th Test appearance for Gaffaney and the 64th Test appearance for Illingworth.

However, it's worth noting that it is the second consecutive final match for Kettleborough as he officiated in the Test Championship finals of 2021 between India and New Zealand at Southampton.

India skipper Rohit Sharma reached the UK for the prestigious game

Meanwhile, days after a humiliating loss against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma reached the United Kingdom for the Test Championship finals. Rohit will be leading the Indian team against the mighty Australia. Apart from him key members of the Indian squad, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav and stand-by player Yashasvi Jaiswal also reached London.

Notably, India will be keen to clinch the game and win their first multinational trophy after a decade. However, Australia, under the leadership of Pat Cummins, will be keen to get revenge for their loss against India in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.
