Karim Benzema, Lionel Messi reportedly set to sign huge deal with Saudi Arabian club ahead of 2023-24 season

Karim Benzema's illustrious Real Madrid career could come to an end this summer, with the Frenchman reportedly receiving a significant offer from a Saudi Arabia-based club. According to AS, Benzema, along with Lionel Messi, has been offered a high-profile deal by a Saudi club.

According to the article, signing major stars like Benzema and Messi might help the Saudi football squad enhance its chances of hosting the 2030 World Cup. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Greece are believed to have devised a strategy of signing famous stars to increase their chances of hosting the World Cup in 2030.

Notably, The Real Madrid superstar is yet to sign the latest deal with the club which is ready since last year. It's worth noting that the Saudi-based club has offered a multi-million Euro deal to both superstars. Benzema reportedly received an offer of €400 million for two seasons while Messi received €300 million for two seasons.

What went wrong with Benzema at Real Madrid?

It is still unknown what went wrong with the deal offered by Madrid to 7 times Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema. Notably, in 2022 after winning Ballon d'Or Benzema and Madrid extended their contract by a year but things drastically changed and now it's on the verge to end. Benzema is consciously exploring other options while Madrid is also not looking interested to keep the French superstar.

On the other hand, Lionel Messi's contract with Paris-Saint German is set to expire before this summer and both parties are not looking to continue it further. Messi is reportedly set to join the Saudi Arabian club after he made an unauthorised trip to the country. This trip also led PSG to suspend him for some games however the legend is back on the field. Notably, many former players and experts have questioned Messi's paycheck at PSG and the management of players in the club.
