Team India could not go all the way in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 as they crashed out of the semi-finals against England who beat them by ten wickets at Adelaide. While India reaching the semi-finals is a thing of note, they were not penetrative with the ball against England.

The bowlers were short on the night as Mohammad Shami and Hardik Pandya went for 39 in his three overs spell. Hardik Pandya went for 34 runs off his three overs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were expensive as well, going for 27 runs and 25 runs in their two overs spell.

The way India went out of the 20-20 World Cup has aroused a lot of questions concerning the team. Some people are calling the India Team chokers because of their inability to win the big matches India have not won a major tournament title for 9 years.

Even former Indian captain Kapil Dev echoed the same sentiments as he said that "Yes, we can call them chokers. That's okay. They come close and then choke.", Kapil told in a show on ABP News. "But don't be too harsh. I agree, India played bad cricket, but we cannot be overly critical based on just one game," he said.

England's 170 run partnership quashed India in the semi-finals

He also said that India were outplayed by England on the day because England assessed the conditions on offer more accurately and that India did not turn up on the day. England kept India down just to 168 in their 20 overs.

In the second innings, England pounced all over India as they got an unbeaten 170-run partnership at the top with the skipper Jos Butler scoring an unbeaten 80 off 49 balls with nine fours and three sixes and Alex Hales an unbeaten smashed 86 off 47 balls with four fours and seven sixes.

The spin duo of Liam Livingstone and Adil Rashid went for just 41 runs off their seven overs and a wicket was scalped by Rashid as he went for just 20 runs in his four overs and that was the turning point between the two sides.
