Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand and the former member of the defending champions Gujarat Titans franchise, has begun recuperation following an effective knee operation. Williamson is now out of action due to injury. Williamson suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his right knee last month. The incident happened during the Indian Premier League 2023 season's first game involving Gujarat Titans with Chennai Super Kings.
The star cricketer had an injury that forced him to withdraw from the remainder of the competition. His participation in the forthcoming 50-over cricket World Cup held in India is still uncertain. Williamson, however, stated that following a successful surgery, he has begun his recuperation in an update to his Instagram account. Kane posted with the following caption, “Surgery (check mark emoji) Now hanging out at my new home.”
Hardik Pandya responded to the post with a fire emoji to offer his support. Williamson played for the Pandya-coached Gujarat Titans franchise. Virat Kohli, the star batter for India, also wished the man a fast recovery. Virat Kohli wrote in the comments section and said, “Get well soon my brother.”

However, fans ridiculed Kohli for backing foreign players while sparring alongside Indian legend Gautam Gambhir in response to his special message to Kane Williamson on social media. Notably, Virat Kohli and LSG coach Gautam Gambhir got into a verbal altercation yesterday night following a thrilling match involving Lucknow Super Giants as well as Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli also fought with a Lucknow player who resides in Afghanistan, Naveen Ul-Haq and the duo had to be kept calm by both the franchises on various occasions.
Both the player and the coach were criticised by cricket experts and spectators for their rude banter, which was not welcomed by everyone who watched the gentleman’s game. As they breach the line, Indian Premier League charged both of the superstars. They were handed out 100% match fee penalties by the IPL for violating article 2.21's code of conduct.
