Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma register an opening partnership of 121 runs

In the Super 4 clash, India made an explosive start as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill forged a formidable 121-run partnership for the first wicket. Their aggressive approach was evident from the outset, with Rohit hitting a massive six off Shaheen Afridi's bowling in the very first over, while Gill took on India's nemesis, Afridi, and struck three boundaries in consecutive overs.

Afridi's initial figures stood at 0/31 in three overs due to their onslaught. However, Shadab Khan ended their partnership by dismissing Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (56 off 49), caught at long-off. Afridi also made a comeback, getting Gill (58 off 52) out in the next over. Rain interrupted play with Virat Kohli (8* off 16) and KL Rahul (17* off 28) at the crease, having added 24 runs together.
