England and Pakistan locked horns against each other in Multan for the second Test. The match is being at the Multan Cricket Stadium. England won the toss and opted to bat. There were two changes from Pakistan. Azhar Ali and Naseem Shah made way for Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf. Abrar Ahmed the wrist spinner, was also brought into the side. England, on the other hand, brought Mark Wood in the side.

On a pitch where run scoring has been difficult and with more turn on offer, it is a stark contrast to the one in Rawalpindi which was a featherbed with runs written all over it. Abrar used the spin friendly conditions on offer and picked up the wickets for Pakistan.

He first opened his account by scalping Zak Crawley with a peach of a delivery. He bowled a googly that made Crawley come forward to defend which left a big gap between bat and pad and was comprehensively bowled.

He then picked up Ben Duckett leg-before wicket. Duckett missed the sweep and got hit on the pad with the ball that did not turn. It was reviewed by Babar, and it was hitting the stumps. He fell due to sweeping and reverse sweeping too much.

He then dismissed Joe Root leg before wicket. The bowler gets the drift in and it pitches on leg stump. It turns prodigiously, goes past Root’s back foot and he gets struck on the back pad. The umpire gave it not out. Pakistan went for a review, and it had to be overturned. With that, he got his third.

He then dismissed Olie Pope by making him go for the reverse sweep. There was extra bounce on this delivery. The ball took the top edge of the bat, hence, an easy catch to backward point.

He finally completed his five-wicket haul by scalping Harry Brook. The ball dipped on the batter and was tossed.  He went for the big shot, mistimes it and Nawaz at mid-off took a high catch. This gave him a five-for on Test match debut.
