India are playing the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chattogram. This is India's first Test match since they last played against England in July at Edgbaston. India, under the stand-in captain, KL Rahul, won the toss and elected to bat first, and it was Rahul, alongside Shubman Gill, who came out to bat for India and start the proceedings.

Bangladesh dominated the first hour of play as India scored only 85-3 in 26 overs. India got off to a good start as boundaries started flowing straightaway. Shubman Gill looked good while scoring 20 off 40 balls with 3 fours. He swept a ball on the leg stump which took the top edge where leg slip took the catch.

KL Rahul and his struggles with the bat continued as he tried to guide a short ball into the off side but since the bat came down at a weird angle he created a gap between bat and pad and the ball ricocheted back onto the stumps. He punched his bat and glove in anger as he walked off because he was livid with the way he got out.

Rahul has not been able to produce the big runs across all formats. Even in the recently concluded three-match ODI series. He scored just 95 runs in three matches at an average of 31.66 and a strike rate of 87.96. Of the 95 runs, 73 of them came in the 1st ODI.

In the 20-20 World Cup in Australia. He was very inconsistent with the bat and was labelled as a minnow basher and one who could not perform in the big games. In six matches. He scored 128 runs at an average of 21.33 and a strike rate of 120.75. There have also been a lot of talks that he has got too much backing from the Team management despite him not delivering the goods.

He will be very upset with the way that he got in the first Test considering that he was leading the side in Rohit Sharmaโ€™s absence. Virat Kohli also got a wonderful delivery from Taijul Islam and he was out leg before wicket. This has left India in a precarious position in the 1st innings.

Twitter was fully abuzz, let us take a look at the reactions here:
